Dee Dee Vogt
MA, LMFT
Dee Dee Vogt earned her master’s degree in biblical counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest and is a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She believes the truth of scripture is the only foundation strong enough to stabilize and heal marriages, families, and individuals. From this theological base, Dee Dee comes alongside couples and individuals providing methods, interventions, and strategies that have been scientifically proven to achieve positive outcomes for her clients. In all cases she strives to create a non-judgmental space where clients can find healing and practice skills to create a better life.
She is particularly interested in using Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), which focuses on the emotional bonds between people and the God-given need of each person for safety and security. Her goal is to maintain a space that is safe for each person or spouse to discover what safety and security means to him or her and how that can be better met in their most meaningful relationships. In addition to EFT, Dee Dee is certified in PREPARE/ENRICH materials and has training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a cognitive behavioral therapy that helps patients challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to trauma. She also draws heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is currently pursuing further education regarding sex therapy for couples and individuals.
A North Carolina native, Dee Dee has been married for 26 years and home-schooled her two children while teaching high school English at The Shepherd’s Church’s HARC program. Now that her children have grown and flown, she has returned to reading for pleasure and is exploring the delicate art of creating miniature book nooks.
