Courtney Munroe

Courtney (he/him/his) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in the state of North Carolina. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Master of Social Work from Baylor University. Courtney has worked with children, adolescents, teens, young adults, parents, and families. He is passionate about helping children and families achieve their goals and build strong relationships.

Courtney has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Therapy as well as training in the Strengthening Families Program, crisis planning, and management. He utilizes a Person-Centered approach to therapy, ensuring that each client’s value is recognized. Courtney has experience with a diverse array of presenting problems including anxiety, depression, ADHD and PTSD. Courtney is committed to creating an environment where clients feel supported and heard. He has helped establish a safe space for children and families to pursue their goals and discuss challenges, with the intention of empowering individuals and families to adapt when life changes.

Courtney has supported children of all ages in processing and expressing their emotions in healthy, effective ways. He has also worked with children and families to establish rules, routines, and create family fun. Courtney is dedicated to helping children navigate and cope with “big emotions” to enhance their overall sense of well-being and enjoyment.

In his free time, Courtney enjoys a variety of activities including spending time with family(especially his nieces and nephews), lifting weights, traveling to new places, playing video games, and watching sports with friends.
