Elizabeth Ishola

Elizabeth (pronouns: she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. She also holds the National Certified Counselor Credential and the Board Certified Telemental Health Credential through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Elizabeth earned her BA in Sociology and Minor in Innovation at the University of Florida and continued her studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she earned her MS degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. 

Elizabeth operates from both a strengths-based approach and Person-Centered lens and draws upon practices from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy. Additionally, she is highly trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She aims to act as an agent of change for her clients, helping to encourage and challenge them along their personal journeys. As a counselor, multiculturalism and its role in fostering a space where clients can present their authentic selves. She is passionate about representation and the importance of making counseling more approachable for populations of color, particularly Black individuals. She believes everyone can benefit from counseling and understands that representation can play a meaningful role in that. 

Elizabeth has experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in both university counseling and outpatient hospital settings. She enjoys working with individuals who are in a space where they are becoming more autonomous and helping them along their journey into adulthood or new life transition. 

Outside of the office, Elizabeth enjoys going on adventures, whether that includes taking a trip to explore a new place or trying out a new restaurant. She also finds joy in listening to music, cooking, catching up on her favorite shows, and spending time with friends and family.
