Lauren Stone

MSW, LCSWA

Lauren (pronouns: she, her, hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Meredith College and her Master’s of Social Work, Clinical Concentration, from Baylor University. She has experience working with clients across a variety of ages as well as mental health diagnoses due to her time interning at Triangle Springs Behavioral Health Hospital. Lauren also has experience working with adolescents as a Youth Advocate for NCWorks, where she supported youth experiencing homelessness, poverty, behavioral health difficulties, and more. As a result, Lauren values taking an intersectional, inclusive, and social justice informed approach to her therapeutic practice.

Lauren is passionate about working with clients and helping them process events in their lives through an integrative approach in therapy consisting of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Person Centered Therapy.  Lauren tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s needs and unique personality, which gives every client a therapy session that is specifically built around them. Lauren strives to make clients feel safe and connected so they are able to get the most out of their sessions and enable the most successful growth towards their goals. She has extensive experience working with clients through relational discord, divorce, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and many other diagnoses and difficulties. Additionally, Lauren has experience integrating faith and spirituality into practice, if important to a client, as Baylor University included “Integrating Faith and Spirituality Into Practice” as a tenth social work competency unique to Baylor.

Outside of the office, Lauren loves spending time with her dog and her cat, spending time with her friends and spending rainy days by the fire place reading one of her favorite books.
